1. Acceptance

By using zanesinc.org, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. These terms apply to everyone who visits, applies for funding, donates, or interacts with our chatbot.

2. What We Offer

Zane's Inc. is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing quarterly funding assistance to children and adults with lifelong special needs in 20 Northeast Ohio counties. The website provides information about our mission, events, and application process. The ZanesBot chatbot provides informational responses about Zane's Inc. and general disability funding resources.

3. Funding Applications

• Submitting an application does not guarantee funding. Our volunteer board reviews each application individually and prioritizes based on need, available funds, and eligibility.
• Funding is for future services only — not current or past bills.
• Approved funds are paid directly to service providers, not to families.
• You must provide accurate information. Fraudulent applications are taken seriously and will be denied.
• Zane's is last-resort funding. Applicants are expected to exhaust insurance, Medicaid, and other funding sources first.

4. ZanesBot AI Chatbot — Important Disclaimers

• ZanesBot is an AI assistant. Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may contain errors or outdated information.
• ZanesBot is not a medical professional, lawyer, or licensed counselor. Its answers are general information only — not medical, legal, financial, or therapeutic advice.
• Always consult qualified professionals for medical, legal, or financial decisions about your family.
• For the most accurate and current information about Zane's Inc., call (330) 677-9263 or email office@zanesinc.org.
• Do not share personal medical records, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive identifying information through the chatbot.

5. Donations

• All donations are processed through PayPal. We never see or store your payment details.
• Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe your donation was made in error, email office@zanesinc.org within 30 days and we'll work with you.
• Zane's Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 26-2925928). Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. For gifts of $250 or more, we'll send a written acknowledgement for your tax records. Consult your tax advisor for your specific situation.
• Zane's Inc. has no paid staff. After payment-processing fees (typically ~3% via PayPal), every donated dollar funds our family-program disbursements.
• Financial statements are filed with the Ohio Attorney General's Charitable Law Section and are available upon request to office@zanesinc.org.

6. Acceptable Use

When using this site, you agree NOT to:

• Submit false or fraudulent applications or donations.
• Attempt to circumvent, disable, or overload our systems (including the chatbot or forms).
• Use automated tools to scrape the site, spam our forms, or abuse the chatbot API.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with Zane's Inc.
• Use the site to distribute harmful, hateful, or illegal content.

We reserve the right to block users who violate these rules.

7. Intellectual Property

The Zane's Inc. name, logo, and original content (text, photos, graphics) are the property of Zane's Inc. Family testimonials, photos, and videos are shared with consent and remain the property of the individuals depicted. You may not reproduce, modify, or redistribute content without permission, except for personal, non-commercial use consistent with our mission.

8. Third-Party Links & Services

The site links to external resources (Alternative Funding providers, YouTube videos, PayPal, etc.) and uses third-party services to operate (see our Privacy Policy). We're not responsible for the content, terms, or privacy practices of third-party sites.

9. Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We try to keep everything accurate, but we can't guarantee:

• Uninterrupted access (we're hosted on Vercel's infrastructure and subject to their availability).
• That every piece of information is current — event dates, funding amounts, and programs change. Always verify with office@zanesinc.org for critical decisions.
• That third-party services (Formspree, PayPal, Anthropic, YouTube, etc.) will function without issue.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Zane's Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of this site, the chatbot, or our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you donated in the 12 months before the claim (which for most visitors is $0).

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Summit County, Ohio.

12. Changes

We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be announced in our newsletter.
